K.H. Boonzaaijer is hands down my favorite bakery in Utrecht. This family-run shop has been serving the community for decades, and the quality shows in every single bite. From the moment they open at 7:00 AM, you can already see why people line up here – it’s that good, and absolutely worth the wait.
The saucijzenbroodje with cream is the best I’ve ever had – perfectly flaky pastry with rich, flavorful filling. Their famous sneeuwbal and Berliner bollen are next level, light and creamy with just the right sweetness. Everything is fresh, traditional, and made with real craftsmanship.
What I love most is the atmosphere – friendly staff, a true neighborhood feel, and pastries that make you come back again and again. This isn’t just a bakery, it’s part of Utrecht’s soul.

Lovely bakery with tasty rolls (cheese, cream, meat). Great "oliebollen" around New Year and friendly service. Doesnt seem like the place to get pie or other sweet pastries though. Note that it is always busy, expect a 5-10 minute wait till you get served.

One of the best bakery in Utrecht! I was living right across and every morning I had fresh bread! One of my favorites are the Spelt bread! So amazing! So if you closed by make sure you try one of the breads or other things they have
Absolutely love this bakery, best in the area! Unlike those Arabic bakeries that sell food from last week. If you want good ready food and sweets nothing can compare! Love you guys ❤️

It was my second visit of a bakery in Utrecht and after the disappointment of the first bakery which rating on google+ was similar, I was quite skeptical if it could live up to its rating.
The decoration and exterior are ordinary and don't widely differ from any other bakery I came across. The selection was mediocre (which was though due to that I visited it at 3pm). They already sold all the baguettes so I opted for a bread which looks just like a baguette but smaller and a sweet biscuit (look at the pictures to make yourself a notion of it). I payed for both a total of 1.25€ which was half expensive as at the other bakery.
Arrived at home I touched the bread which felt utterly HARD which drew even more skepticism. However as I made the first bite, my skepticism was proved to be wrong. It wasn't hard, it was CRISP. It was a divine taste and it really set itself apart from any other bread. Same applies to the biscuit, it tasted SUPERB.
There is definitely no reason to be skeptical if you want to visit the bakery. It's my favorite bakery not just in Utrecht but for now, also on this planet!Great bakery full of life, all types of bread, cakes, tradicional cakes from NL and good attention. There's always a queue, but don't worry, this is the sign to tell you this place is the good one.
There are no other good bakeries in this part of the city, and perhaps that's because people know they could never compete with this one. Always queues, and for good reason!
